33 Home Remedies for Atelectasis

What is Atelectasis?

 

Atelectasis is a health condition that describes the failure of the lung to expand completely or collapses.  It results when there is some infection, presence of fluid within the lungs and around it, or a blockage of the airways. While home remedies cannot uncollapse a lung, it can resolve some of the symptoms that come with Atelectasis. Below are some great home remedies.

1. Ginger

Ginger is widely reviewed as a powerful anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and warming remedy for a number of health infractions. When infections lead to excessive production of mucus, ginger can clear it up and remedy the situation. Three cups of ginger daily will be effective. You can drink ginger tea or ginger ale to help with this. 

2. Water

Eight glasses of water intake on a daily basis is recommended and it is well known that water expedites a flush of toxins from the body. In this case, the mucus will be dissolved in other secretions so they can be expelled through the mouth and other pathways.

3. Sesame Oil

You can prepare tomato by squashing and boiling it using a 20- minute setting on your cooker. Fetch it and sip slowly. 6. Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus provides relief to sufferers of respiratory ailments when applied in a requisite manner. You need to ensure that you source your eucalyptus oil from a trustworthy dispensary as it needs to be uncontaminated to be effective. When using eucalyptus or other essential oils, make sure to dillute the oil with water so it does not damage your skin. Apply to your chest by massaging the oil slowly and consistently. 7. Posture

10. Neti Pots

Dissolve half teaspoonful of salt in warm water and empty it into a Neti pot. To use it, hold the spout close to your nostrils with your head tilted sideways and inhale the steam till it flows out of your other nostril. Repeat process until you are relieved.  This will clear the mucus and toxins lodged in your sinus and airways.
