  1. Tea Tree Oil

To use this home remedy, mix a few drops of tea tree oil in coconut oil. This will help to dilute the oil so it does not dry out your skin. Let the skin dry naturally before washing off with water. Pat dry the skin. You can also make a mask by mixing the remaining green tea leaves with honey.

Drinking green tea may not have any evidence that it can help in controlling acne. It is still a good idea to consume this tea because some research suggests that it is beneficial in your overall health.

There are two kinds of honey that are known to help in acne treatment: the manuka honey from New Zealand and raw honey. Honey has natural antibacterial properties and therefore promotes it is considered as an effective treatment for acne.

Remember to test the honey on your jawline before applying to your face. Leave the honey for about thirty minutes. You should not put it on your face if an allergic reaction occurs.

Put together the same amount of Fuller’s earth, rose water and sandalwood powder. Make sure that you get the proper consistency. Rub this mud pack gently to your face. Rinse it off once it dries up. Do this once a week to get the best results.

Fatty foods are frequently believed to be bad for acne but there is actually fatty foods that are useful in controlling acne. Omega-3 fatty acids can make the skin supple. Make sure to clean well a glass container with hot water and soap only. This is where you are going to put the toner mixture.

Mix together into the container ½ cups each apple cider vinegar and water. With covered bottled, shake the mixture thoroughly. Using a cotton ball, massage the toner to the pimples. Keep the toner mixture in a cool, dry, dark place.


Remember that a pure apple cider vinegar is very strong and it is not advisable to use without mixing with water. You can then add more water if the mixture causes irritation to your skin.

Mint is useful in removing the oil that is clogged up in the skin. It is good to use it before acne starts to come out.

To use this home remedy, finely chop two tablespoons of fresh mint. Mix this with two tablespoons each of plain yogurt and two tablespoons of oatmeal. Let the orange peel completely dry out in the sun before using it.  Pulverize the dried peel. Mix it with water to make a paste. Gently put the paste into the affected area. Leave it in for fifteen minutes. Wash the face well with warm water. Use this home remedy as often as needed.

Make a paste by mixing equal parts cornstarch and water. Apply this paste to all of your acne spots. You can also use this as a face mask. You can leave it on as long as you want. When you are done with either treatment, you can rinse off the paste with lukewarm water. Use this remedy as often as you like.


  1. Aspirin Paste

You can easily make this at home and it is a very effective home remedy for acne. Aspirin has a salicylic acid and also known as one of the leading anti-inflammatory remedies. It is used as an exfoliation agent to get rid of dirt and bacteria from the skin.

Pulverize two pills of about 81 mg each of aspirin into a bowl. Mix it with water to make a paste. Gently put the paste into the affected areas. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes. Wash the face well with warm water when you are done.


Remember that if you have allergic reactions when you apply the paste, you should rinse it off immediately.

Blend together chamomile tea leaves and water to make a paste. Apply this to the affected area. Alternatively, you can also soak for fifteen minutes two chamomile tea bags with one cup hot water. Apply the cooled chamomile tea into your face.

Strawberries are rich in salicylic acid. Honey and strawberries are ingredients that are used in expensive and sometimes harsh facial scrubs and cleansers. This mixture is an effective home remedy for acne treatment. It helps in getting rid of dead cells and open –up clogged pores. It is also used as disinfectant and anti-inflammation. Strawberry and honey mix shrinks up the pores and a good prevention for future skin flare-ups. This remedy helps in encouraging new cell growth.  

Wash three strawberries well and mash them. Try not to squeeze them too much as they become runny. Blend this with two tablespoons of honey to make a smooth paste. Massage it on the face. Leave it on for about twenty minutes. Wash your face thoroughly with warm water once the time is up. Moisturize the skin afterward. You can do this two times a week for at least one month to see results.

Whenever you dry your face after a wash, you should avoid rubbing it off with a towel. This can hurt your skin. When you rub the bacteria and dirt in the face can easily spread making the acne worse. The best way is to gently pat dry your face with a clean towel.  


  1. White Toothpaste

White toothpaste is also an effective and familiar acne treatment. Gently put white toothpaste onto each pimple. Leave it on for about ten to fifteen minutes. Rinse the face well with warm water. Use this home remedy as often as needed.

Turmeric is a yellow-tinged spice. It is easily available wherever spices are found. This spice is commonly used in Middle-Eastern cooking. Turmeric is a well-known and effective remedy for acne. To use this home remedy, mix together ¼ teaspoon of powdered turmeric and two teaspoons of coconut oil. Apply this mixture as a face mask. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes. Wash it well with cool water. Note that turmeric can stain the skin yellow. So do not leave it on the skin the whole night.

Combine together two tablespoons of baking soda and water to make a smooth paste.  Gently put this paste directly on the affected area. Leave it on for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Wash the face well with warm water. Since baking soda can dry the skin, make sure to use a gentle moisturizer.

Alternatively, you could also grind one teaspoon of the fenugreek seeds to a fine, smooth powder and add a few teaspoons of warm water to make a paste. Rub this paste into your acne prone skin. You can either leave the paste on for twenty minutes or overnight, and after, rinse it off with a facecloth that is damp with warm water. Use this home remedy three times a week to get the best results.

  1. Tomato Rinse

Tomatoes are a great and simple cure for acne as they are abuzz with antioxidants. They also contain vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin C. This remedy is also conveniently stored in any food store.
