29 Home Remedies for Acne Scars

Acne is a phase that all teenagers and adults go through during puberty, pregnancy and in general when times of stress occur. Some break out due to bad hygiene as well. Ance can sometimes lead to acne scars. You know that you have acne if you see pimples over your skin spread out. It would consist of blackheads, whiteheads, and short pink bumps and those are called papules. You can see acne on your face, back, legs, butt, cheeks, and shoulders.   

You can get acne scarring when your acne has started to go away and you have done the following: picked at your pimples with your hands, objects or other things; busted whiteheads and blackheads and tried other methods to get rid of acne in spots. This behavior will create acne scarring.

You can fix acne scarring however if you use some home remedies. These home remedies contain ingredients that help with inflammation or they fight the bacteria you bring to your body.  But some scars are left around forever unless you find the right product.

Home Remedies for Acne Scars

  1. Lemon Juice  

Lemon juice is considered natural bleach. Also helps to rebuild elasticity.  Lime juice does the same thing. Using a cotton ball apply the juice to the acne and then rinse with water. Do this daily to get the best results. Apply sunscreen afterward if you plan on going outdoors.

  1. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera gel helps to heal and regenerate damaged skin.  Fresh is best; however, if you cannot get fresh gel, using bottled aloe vera gel is fine. Apply the gel and leave on for thirty minutes then wash it off.  Apply twice daily.

 

  1. Aloe Vera and Sage

Aloe vera can be of additional benefit when it is combined with other home remedies, like the herb sage. Soak sage leaves (enough to cover the acne scars) in hot water and then apply the sage. Afterward apply the aloe vera. Do this every day until you no longer have acne scars.

 

  1. Baking Soda

To use this home remedy, mix equal parts baking soda with water to make a paste. Rub this paste on your acne scars, using a circular motion. After you are done with the message, leave the paste on your skin until it dries. Then, wash it off.  This can help to get rid of the dead skin which can make it harder to get rid of scars.

 

  1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a type of natural essential oil. To use this home remedy, you will need to dilute the oil in a carrier oil. Once diluted, put the oil mixture on your skin. Let it sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Do this every day until you no longer have acne scars.

 

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

  1. Vitamin E

Take a capsule orally or break the capsule and squeeze out the vitamin e oil inside and rub it on your face.  Vitamin E is great at treating nearly everything related to hair, skin, and nails, and treating acne scars is no exception. Rinse off the oil once it dries. Do this every day until you no longer have acne scars.

 

  1. Honey for Acne Scars

You apply the honey and leave it on overnight. You can mix with oatmeal and cinnamon powder to make this home remedy work faster. In the morning wash your face with cold water. Repeat this every night and morning to get the fastest results.

 

  1. Cocoa Butter

Rub cocoa butter on the acne spots or over the entire spot where it is. Use this daily until the color is the same on your body and face. Use sunscreen after the cocoa butter if you plan to go outside.

  1. Raw Tomatoes

It will eliminate scars from your face. Apply tomato pulp to your face and then leave on for twenty minutes. When the time is up, rinse off the tomato.

 

  1. Toothpaste

Apply and leave overnight to the area. Do this every night for a month to see results.

 

  1. Coconut Oil

Rub onto skin and leave it on. Coconut oil is great for healing all sorts of skin conditions, including acne scars. Using coconut oil can also help to soften the skin.

 

  1. Almonds

Soak the almonds in water and leave them there overnight.  Peel the next day and then mash into a paste made with rose water.  Apply the paste to the face and then rinse off after a few minutes. Use this home remedy each day until you no longer have acne scars.

Always remember to pat dry your face and also to not use astringent after a scrub or a mask until the next time you wash your face unless you know your face can handle it.  Astringent shouldn’t dry your face out.

 

  1. Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea can help to reduce the appearance of acne scars. To use this home remedy, make a cup of chamomile tea and allow it to cool. Once cooled, use it as a face wash. Use this as often as needed to treat both acne and acne scars.

 

  1. Cod Liver Oil

Like with vitamin E supplements, you will need to break open a cod liver oil pill to get the oil inside. Rub this oil on your acne scars. Once dried, rinse off the oil. Do this once a day to get the best results.

Taking cod liver oil supplements, or simply adding more cod to your diet, can also help to treat acne from the inside out.

 

  1. Aspirin Paste

Take a couple of aspirin and make a paste by mixing the crushed pills with a few drops of water. Then apply your paste to your face and rinse off after it dries. Do this every couple of days until you no longer have acne scars.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated and your face will clear up and maintain an even skin tone. Try to drink around eight cups of water a day to get the best results. This can also help to prevent acne.

 

  1. General Face Wash

Wash your face several times a day. If possible, three times a day. If you work, bring a washcloth with you to pat dry your face and do it during your lunch time.
